Amity Online is a young online arm of a large private university in Noida, and its pitch is variety — programme collaborations with professional bodies, international partners, and more ways to get a discount on the fee than anyone else we list. NMIMS runs its distance and online education centre out of Mumbai, on the back of a management institute with decades of history behind it.

NMIMS holds a NAAC A++ grade and is ranked in the NIRF management list, which is the single clearest gap between the two on paper. It also carries AACSB association and WES and AIU recognition, the combination that matters if you might later apply abroad or need the degree evaluated by a foreign employer or university.
Amity is UGC-DEB entitled and AICTE approved as well, with international recognition through WASC in the United States, QAA in the United Kingdom, ACCA and QS. Amity's list is built around partnerships. Several of its MBA variants are run with an external body attached — construction project management with RICS, international finance with ACCA, hospital and healthcare management with a medical education partner including an observership arrangement. There is also a dual specialisation option, and data science and business analytics streams. If your target role is in a licensed or credential-heavy field, that external attachment is worth something concrete beyond the degree itself.
NMIMS splits its list in two. There is a standard set — business management, finance, marketing, HR, operations and data sciences, IT, analytics — and then a separate band of working executive programmes in marketing, leadership and strategy, operations and supply chain, applied finance and digital marketing. That second band is designed for people with real work experience rather than fresh graduates, and it is the most distinctive thing about the NMIMS catalogue. If you already have several years behind you, the executive track will feel less like repeating your first job.
The fee table on this page has the exact figures and they move when the universities revise them, so treat the shape rather than the numbers. Amity's MBA prices sit within a fairly tight band. NMIMS spans a much wider band, because its executive programmes and its flagship business management programme are priced differently from each other — the cheapest NMIMS MBA and the most expensive one are not remotely the same commitment.
That matters for how you compare. A headline comparison of the two universities is close to meaningless; a comparison of the specialisation you actually want is not. Filter first, then look at the price — the two programmes you are really choosing between often land closer together than the university-level ranges suggest.

NMIMS offers merit-based scholarships, government schemes and a defence personnel category, with zero-interest EMI. The menu is narrower, so there is less room to negotiate the effective fee down. Ask the counsellor at both, in writing, what you personally qualify for before you compare the two prices — a discount you qualify for changes this comparison more than any feature does.
NMIMS runs a job portal, profile development, interview preparation and career coaching, and it schedules a short on-campus component in Mumbai. Its alumni feedback and its recorded career progression are the strongest of the pair in our data. We are deliberately not quoting NMIMS placement figures anywhere on this site: the average package recorded against it looks like a full-time campus number rather than an online one, and repeating it would mislead you about what an online MBA does to your salary.
Amity reports a large hiring partner network, placement assistance and mentoring, with alumni feedback also recorded as excellent, though its career progression rating sits a step below. Understand what is being offered at both: placement assistance for an online MBA means a portal, drives and coaching, not a guaranteed offer. If a counsellor promises otherwise, get it in writing.
Neither requires an entrance exam. Amity admits on merit, NMIMS on its own admission criteria, and both run intakes in January and July. Miss a window and you wait for the next session, so plan backwards from when you want to start rather than from when you happen to be browsing.
